What in your life are you so dedicated too that it causes your spouse to have jealousy towards it?

What do you spend so much of your time doing that it hurts your marital and family relationships?

For some wives it is hunting or sports. Their husbands dedicate so much time and energy to pursuing animals and balls, they just wish they would dedicate half as much to pursuing and learning about them.

For many husbands it may be the cell phone or Facebook that appears grafted to their skin or shopping with girl friends..

For either spouse the internet or TV can be big factors that cause tension and jealousy in a marriage.

The Bible teaches us that where jealousy or envy exist that every evil thing will be there (James 3:16).  But from the perspective I am addressing in this post the jealousy may be good, like God has for his church in 2 Corinthians 11:2.  All of these things can be healthy and good parts of a balanced marriage, but if they consume large quantities of time and energy they hurt the marriage.

Marriages need time and communication to thrive.  Think about what your spouse or even children feel have priority over them?  It doesn’t matter if they really have priority over them, what matters is do they feel like it has priority over them!  Don’t let hobbies, work, friends, computers, or anything besides God take priority over your family.
